Your business area

As a Financial Accountant you contribute to the business, by timely and accurately preparating and reporting monthly financial statements for DHL entities in several countries in Europe, in accordance with Accounting principles (IFRS) and Corporate policies. You are responsible for several balance sheet accounts and risk management according to our General Ledger guidelines. You maintain chart of accounts and perform account-, sub ledger- and interface reconciliations. You provide support for the analytical review (Balance sheet and Profit & Loss) and perform month-end closing activities according to month-end schedule. You prepare and process accruals and provisions, prepare VAT reporting and perform Statutory Reporting activities. You provide financial information to the finance teams in the countries and to auditors.

Working in this enthusiastic team gives you an overview of monthly reporting in an international business environment where we focus on month end activities and reporting into a centralized reporting tool. Month end activities include reviewing and posting accruals, reconciling revenue, reporting statistics, and calculation of provisions.

Now here's what we need from you:

  • You have a Bachelor or University degree (e.g. Accounting, Business Economics)

  • You have 0 - 3 years experience in an accounting environment

  • You are able to build and maintain a great working relationship with other finance stakeholders

  • You have excellent skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and SAP applications

  • You like working in teams and participate actively as a team member

  • Knowledge of vat rules and regulations is an asset

  • You are fluent in English (mandatory) and German is preferred; other languages would be an asset
